 Arriving in a new country can be very daunting, especially if you don’t have a network of friends and family to rely on.

Canadanewbies has been established for the “Newbies” and “Not so Newbies” alike to connect South Africans living in Canada and to help make relocating a little easier.

Our aim is two-fold, primarily we want to reach out to South Africans who are considering moving or are in the process of relocating and make the transition easier and more informed.    We will provide a soft landing –  a place to stay and a network of like minded people with all the tools and knowledge to ease you comfortably into your new life .

Secondly Canadanewbies  is attempting to unite all South Africans and create a platform for businesses to market to fellow South Africans.   We aim to be your first stop when looking for :

•  Finding and making friends
• Social events with fellow South Africans
• Companies owned by South Africans
• South Africans in business

Moving countries is a huge adjustment and we all cope with it differently, it’s exciting and nerve-wracking all at the same time.   Sometimes the change may meet and exceed your expectation and other times the emotional hardship that we feel as we disentangle our family and lifelong friends from our day-to-day living can be physically and emotionally draining.

It really helps to know that when you arrive in Canada, you are NOT alone. There is an active South African community dying to meet you and share some laughs.
